-Taking the Lead on Cloud-based Email Continuity and Synchronization with G1 Phone-
November 17, 2008, San Mateo-
Cemaphore System's MailShadow® for Google Apps™ (MailShadowG) is leading the charge for users migrating to cloud-based business continuity and disaster recovery for corporate email. In a move much-anticipated by the corporate email industry, Cemaphore today announced general availability of MailShadowG Professional Edition, the first Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution to provide synchronization, migration and continuity for email, contacts, and calendars utilizing Google Apps.
MailShadowG, which includes support for both Windows Vista and Windows XP, allows users and businesses to make full use of bi-directional synchronization between Microsoft Exchange and Google's Gmail™. MailShadowG provides migration and replication of email, calendars and contacts through Microsoft Outlook™. Using MailShadowG, even T-Mobile G1 phone customers can now stay in sync with their Exchange data.
"Gartner predicts that email using a cloud approach will grow from1 percent of the market in 2007 to about 20 percent of the market by 2012," said Matt Cain, Research Vice President at Gartner. "Smaller companies in particular, which have the worst economics for premises-based email, will see the biggest payback in moving mailboxes into the cloud."
"Today's announcement is a watershed event for the messaging industry, and reflects the positive feedback we received from every size of organization during our extensive beta process," said Tyrone Pike, Cemaphore President and CEO. "The overwhelming response from over 4,500 beta participants-coupled with the predictions of market analysts such as Gartner-indicates that Cemaphore's innovative approach will dramatically accelerate the adoption of cloud computing for email. Our customers have also told us that we've delivered a killer app in our unique ability to synchronize with G1 phones."
"I love MailShadow for Google. It does exactly what it says it will do," said Dennis Garman, Senior Systems Engineer for Advanced Information Technologies, Inc., an IT provider based in Buena Park, Calif. "It's also fast. I receive my e-mail on my laptop and my T-Mobile G1 phone at virtually the same time. This thing rocks!"
For businesses, MailShadow for Google Apps reduces the costly infrastructure, hardware, co-location facilities and management expertise required to maintain internal mail systems. MailShadowG gives individuals and SMBs access to the same powerful continuity and disaster recovery capabilities enjoyed by the largest enterprises.
Cemaphore also announced today that it is offering MailShadow for Google Apps Professional Edition at a special introductory rate of $29.95 per user until November 30, 2008. Users can purchase or download a free 15-day trial version from www.cemaphore.com.
