Response to Cemaphore's MailShadow® for Google Apps Exceeds all Expectations

Solution to Fully Synchronize Microsoft® Outlook® and Gmail Reports More Than 1730 Beta Applicants in Less Than Two Weeks

April 16, 2008, San Mateo

Early response has been nothing short of phenomenal to Cemaphore Systems recent announcement of MailShadow® for Google Apps (MailShadowG). MailShadowG immediately synchronizes email, calendars and contacts between Outlook, Exchange and Gmail. Company officials last month announced a two-phase beta program and were looking for 500 qualified participants for beta1; but demand for participation in the beta1 program far exceeded the companys expectations and the number of applicants is approaching 2000. Cemaphore has not yet announced how many users it will actually enroll in the beta1 program; however the company notes that plans are still on schedule to launch the beta program later this month.

Other aspects of the early response to MailShadowG are of particular interest as well: While the majority of applicants (70 percent) are from small-to-medium companies (1-500 mailboxes) as was anticipated, it is important to note that a full 15 percent of these immediate applicants are from large organizations. Individual users accounted for 10 percent of applicants, with the remainder coming from academic institutions and government. In another somewhat surprising development 40 percent of the immediate applications are from international customers; while 60 percent are from the United States.

MailShadowG is the first web services-based email continuity and disaster recovery solution to fully utilize the robust Google Apps cloud-based services. MailShadowG provides any e-mail user with continuity, content management, and portability of their rich email. MailShadows transaction-based architecture synchronizes all content bi-directionally in real-time. Content is protected and can be viewed transparently from Outlook or via Googles web interfaces for Gmail, contacts and Google Calendar.

The phenomenal response we are seeing to MailShadowG is underscoring the critical market needs we are working to fill, said Tyrone Pike, Cemaphore President and CEO. It is very clear that the ability to deliver the highest level of e-mail continuity from within the cloud will have a major impact on the way that SMBs, consumers and even large enterprises implement, manage and archive e-mail content in the future.

Company officials noted that while the first version of MailShadowG serves Gmail customers, Cemaphore plans to provide web servicesbased MailShadow solutions in the future for other key Email Service Providers as well.
